Finn's #2 Birthday!

I can not explain to you how excited I was for Finn's birthday. The thought that he would actually understand to some degree that this day was for him was something to anticipate. For weeks I've been prepping him for the question that I knew would come this day, "Finn, how old are you?" I was a bit nervous even 4 to 5 days ago when I could not get him to say the correct answer. However, Finn pulled through and all day today we asked Finn, "Is it your birthday?" To which he responded emphatically, "Yes!" Then we asked, "How old are you?" To which he triumphantly replied, "2!"

He's alive!!!

So. . . Finn's B-day Blog. . .

Wakeup--parents very groggy.

We danced to the Beattles Birthday song and lit candles in a thing of yogurt on top of a toaster waffle with whipped cream and sprinkles on it (in other words i tore through the kitchen for anything breakfasty and birthdayish). Finn was pleasedissimo!!

We went to SAZOO (Santa Ana Zoo), which in essence is a monkey zoo . That is pretty much my ideal zoo. All I really want to see is monkeys at the zoo. I would love to see lively tigers and lions, but they are always sleeping when I see them. (This was my complaint to my friend Katie today on our way to the zoo. She was kind enough to explain to me that they are nocturnal--guess I missed that national geographic). We went with Finn's girlfriend Ruby.

This is Ruby, btw.

Finn has good taste.

Best animal award goes to little mama monkey holding her baby in her lap--adorable!

Runner up is the ca-somethin'-somethin'--of course I can't remember the name, but it is basically a giant gerbil, like something right out of The Princess Bride ("R.O.U.S.es? Rodents of unusual size, I don't think they exist.") Cool lookin' gerbil.

After Finn's nap, he was very upset that Ruby was gone and he asked for his giant Happy Birthday balloon that she had given him.

Ruthie stayed with Franco so that Finn and I could have a date to Beverly's Best Bakery for a little doggie cupcake. I wish I could have shown you the doggie, but I didn't get the camera out in the T-minus two seconds it took for Finn to eat off the entire top of the cupcake :/.

Then, dealt with a little boy getting hit by a car on the street right in front of my house. I will not expound on this subject, except to say that I think he is going to be fine and Ruth and I are starting a petition TOMORROW to get speed bumps on our poopy street!

Daddy comes home--always a party! We went to get pizza and ice cream. Finn played basketball in the bath with his new Rub a Dub Hoops for the tub. It was a hit!

So Finn is two.

I am pleased to inform you that Finn is starting to love Franco. He says his name perfectly now.

Here is Finn on Easter Sunday. He was really excited about this photo shoot.
